30 seconds of scrolling on LinkedIn and you can see a lot of change. Layoffs, new jobs, new businesses, promotions, big projects, and more. This has been a season of change for me as well as I launch Wethington Leadership.
With any major change in our lives, we can experience stress and overwhelm as we try to fix, grow, or in some way, get control of the change. During these times, it’s important to remember to focus on your goals, take care of yourself, and think about the things you can control.
✅ Stay focused on your goals. What are you trying to achieve? In the midst of the change, what is important to you and your future? Make decisions and take actions that will keep you aligned to your goals.
✅ Work with or talk to someone about the change and the challenges it presents. A coach can provide support and help with navigation. You may also reach out to a friend, a trusted confidant, or a therapist. Not only can people provide insight, but they will provide support too.
✅ Be sure to eat well, get sleep, and exercise. During the winter months, this can be hard as the temperature outside might be too cold to get out and exercise. And then there are the holiday parties, dinners, and drinks! Yikes. Work to make this a priority in your day as it will help you be better prepared to handle the changes. It will also give your mind space to think and present options and solutions.
✅ Control what you can, let go of what you can’t. Even during change, there are things that we can control. Work with those things, make a plan, and execute (even if that plan is deciding what’s for dinner). When we exercise some control over change, we can take a step back and find opportunities to grow, reduce stress, and accelerate through change.
You've got this!
If you're looking to partner with a coach during these changes, book a discovery call with me and let's talk about ways to accelerate through change and grow as a leader.
